Today 8th July, 2021, the Soroti District Local Government conducted a successful official launch for the distribution of the Hand Hoes for the residents of Soroti District. The Hoes distribution was flagged off at Katine sub county headquarters by the district RDC Patrick Okumu, the district political head, LC-5 Simon Peter Edoru Ekuu and the district CAO Luke LL Lokuda, and other district officials of production department. Each household is set to least 2 hoes. The district last month received a total of 118,416 from NAADS Secretariat/OWC for the distribution to our people so as to increase Agricultural production for increased household income. RDC warned the locals who received the hoes against selling for alcohol, as it has been reported in some areas. “I warn you, take these hoe home, it is meant for the use so as to increase production of food, this is from government,” said RDC. The distribution is already rolling to other parts/sub counties of the distributed guided by the sub county leadership OWC/production.
