GENERAL PETER ELWELU URGES CIVIL SERVANTS IN SOROTI TO UPHOLD EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE DELIVERY

Lt. General Peter Elwelu, the head of the Teso-Karamoja Monitoring Mechanism, has called on civil servants in Soroti District to prioritize delivering quality service and uphold professionalism in their work.

The call was made during a meeting held on Friday, 28th February 2025, at the District Council Hall, as part of General Elwelu’s tour to local government offices.

Speaking to the civil servants, General Elwelu emphasized the critical role they play in the development of the district, urging them to work with integrity, accountability, and efficiency.

“As public servants, your work has a direct impact on the community. It is vital that you serve with dedication and uphold high ethical standards,” Elwelu stressed.

General Elwelu, who is currently on an orientation tour to monitor the implementation of government programs in the Teso region, also reminded civil servants of their duty to maintain transparency and a strong work ethic.

The District Chairperson of Soroti, Mr. Edoru Simon Peter Ekuu, expressed his gratitude to General Elwelu for reminding civil servants of their responsibilities.

“Too often, civil servants get caught up in internal conflicts, instead of focusing on the service they are meant to provide. This reminder is crucial for ensuring effective service delivery in our district,” Edoru said.

The meeting’s objective was to encourage government workers to stay focused on their duties, avoid internal conflicts, and contribute positively to the district’s progress. It was attended by members of the district executive, district security team, LC IIIs Chairpersons, heads of departments and sub cunty chiefs.
