Soroti district Education department acquires a brand-new Pick-up car

Soroti district Education department have a reason to smile, this after it was handed a brand-new Pick-up car to ease the departmental education work. The new bumper was this morning handed the District Education Officer- DEO James Oede. The previous district council approved the purchase of car. “As a department we are delighted now that we have attained new one, monitoring has been made possible, we promise to make the best use of the car” says Oede. Luke. L.L Lokuda, the CAO thanked the previous council for passing a budget that enabled the acquisition of the new car. About UGX 184m was spent. Rose Tino, the former Secretary of Education and Health and now the current secretary works says car should be made to it better use. “We see that the car is used in a proper manner mostly to facilitate education program,” said Tino. David Agwanyi, the Secretary Education and Health said he is pleased with the new achievements of the education department. He promised to do the cardinal role of oversight accountability. Meanwhile LC-5 Chairperson Simon Peter Edoru Ekuu asked the DEO ensure that the car is properly maintained, challenging the department to reflect the outcome of the new car. Edoru says the district will always continue to support other departments just as it has done to education.
